Student English Teacher @ O'Farrell for 1995-1996 school year. Enrolled in SDSU's credential program.

Background

I was born in San Diego over twenty-one years ago and lived here for most of my life. I am a second-generation Filipino and proud of it. I just graduated from UCLA last June after four long grueling years in the English department. While at UCLA, I worked at the UCLA Child Care Center in Group 1, working with kids who were as young as 3 months and as old as 18 months. During the summers, I worked at a tutoring program called Kumon helping students with English and Math.

Interests, Activities & Plans

Right now I'm in SDSU's teacher credential program studying to become a teacher. I'm in the O'Farrell Block at the O'Farrell Community School, which is actually a middle school with grades 6 through 8. My interests include watching Japanese Animation (Ranma 1/2, Robotech, Alita Battle Angel), comic books (Sandman, Generation X), cartoons, Star Trek: the Next Generation, X-Files,drawing, painting , and collecting postcards and posters. I'm usually involved with the San Diego Comic Convention as a volunteer and going there with my friends.

When I lived in LA, I went to a lot of the Hollywood premieres and saw a lot of movie stars. I liked hanging out at the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade, reading books at Barnes and Nobles. I loved going to the LA County Museum of Art and the John Paul Getty Museum.

My future plans include teaching high school English at some high school in San Diego and getting married with my boyfriend, Eric.

Other Interesting Things

Hobbies: Drawing, painting, collecting comic books, posters, and postcards

Idiosyncracies: I usually put my hair up in a pony-tail. I like to wear shorts. I like "kid" stuff. And I like to wear tennis shoes.

Non-academic talents: I draw really well. I'm pretty good with Jeopardy questions. And I play video games (Dark Stalkers, Bust-A-Move, StreetFighter II).
