At the moment I am working for UPS. I will be working within the English department at O'Farrell Middle School.

Background

I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. After graduating from Long Beach City College I transferred to SDSU. I have two brother's, one who has graduated from UCSD and the other who will be attending SDSU in the Fall. During this up coming year we will all be living in the same city for the first time in six year's. The only job that I have had that is related to education is when I worked at an elementary school as an aid. This was the most enjoyable and satisfying job I ever had. While going to school I have worked at a hotel, a coffee house, and at my present employment, UPS. Lately I have been contemplating if I will stay in San Diego or move back to Long Beach, Hopefully I will be able to secure a teaching position here in San Diego. I think Long Beach is a great place to visit but I think this is a better place to live.

Iinterests, Activities & Plans

I am interested in becoming both a teacher and a coach. With this in mind I would want to teach at the High School level, where I will be able to teach English, Creative Writing, and also coach soccer. I think at the High School level I will be able to teach more of the books that I enjoy and would like to pass on to my students. I like a lot of 19th century writers and the classic books that might be passed on at the Junior High level. I've always been involved in sports and feel that it is a good way to develop communication skills as well as a way to build upon your personality.

Other Interesting Things

Besides playing sports, I enjoy playing pool and listening to music. I try to attended concerts when ever possible and feasible. I also like to go to the beach and play volleyball or just hang out. Growing up close to the beach I can't imagine not being able to go there at will. I would like to learn how to play an instrument someday but have yet to give it a full effort.
