Certified Classroom Teaching Assistant, valet parker, and in Physical Education department.

Background

Hi, Welcome to my homepage. I grew up in St. Joseph, MO. and later moved to Southern California after my Father received a job offer there. Before opting to return to school and obtain my degree I spent a few years managing a few retail stores in the Surfing and Sporting Goods Industry. Since returning to school I have been working at a hotel as a valet and have also been working as a Certified Classroom Teaching Assistant for San Diego City Schools. I was involved with the resource specialist working with full inclusion students in the resource program. This provided me with great insight into the students of today and has been an invaluable experience.

Interests, Activities & Plans

I am getting my secondary credential in Physical Education and Biology. I started my college career to become an Orthodontist, but later decided that teaching would be more to my liking. This decision came after being told my entire life that I should become a teacher by family and friends. After teaching for a few years , I want to continue my education and obtain my Ph.D in Education. This will give me the option of becoming a Principal someday.

I enjoy all sports. Being a Physical Education major I am very active and expecially love playing golf and tennis. I am also currently planning on writing a book in the future on what I have coined, vis-mental imagery. If this is already being used then those authors duly receive all credit. This is the combination of visual and mental imagery in improving sports performance. I have plans to do a thesis on this which will include video aspects as well.

Other Interesting Things

I enjoy watching classic movies from the 40's and 50's, " The golden age of Hollywood." That is when I am not on the golf course or on the tennis courts. I also enjoy watching movies, and looking to see how they relate to todays society and the use of symbolism.
