Building your Greek God Resume

A resume is a formal way of selling yourself, or in this case your God, on paper.

After choosing the God you would like to represent and gathering information about him or her, you will need to decide on how you want to organize your information.

A resume does not have to be a dry recitation of the names of the places you worked, followed by dull generalities about your responsibilities at each job. If a resume is boring for you to write, then think how sleep-inducing it must be for the prospective employer who has to read it.

A good resume can and should be something different. Your resume should be a carefully tailored marketing tool that summarizes your employment qualifications for a pre-defined target audience. In this case your audience is the fellow Gods of Mt. Olympus. You can think of it as a print advertisement, only in this case the product is the God you're representing and the consumer is your fellow Gods. You need to approach your job search like an ad campaign for your God--because that's what it is..

Your resume should include a heading, that states your God's name, their address, and a phone number.

After completing the heading you should state an objective, the purpose for your resume or what you hope to accomplish.

Next, you will need to list the special skills your God or Goddess has. This is where you will need to utilize any research you have done as well as your imagination.

After listing your special skills, you will need to list any work experience your God has had. Here too you will need to utilize the research you have done but you will also want to be creative. Use what you know about your God or Goddess to think up some innovative experiences that might make them more suitable for the position of King.

After completing the special skills and work experience sections of your resume, you will need to end it with a personal statement of why it is that you want to replace Zeus and why you are the most qualified.

Remember that organization and clarity are the key. Be creative when designing your resume. Take a look at the Greek God resume sample in order to get some ideas. Once you feel that you are ready, load Claris works and begin. Have fun!!!!!
