The main idea for this project will be the kelp beds of Southern California. The unit itself will be divided into three sections. The first section will cover the kelp canopy. In this section of the kelp, the unit will deal with the animal life that lives in the canopy. The next sections of the unit will cover the kelp stipes. The animals that live in the stipes are completely different than the animals that live in the canopy. Last section of this unit will deal with the holdfast of the kelp beds. In this area, all of the bottom dewellers can be found, anything that lives of the bottom of the ocean, and some of the free swimmers of the kelp stipes can be found in this area
