Topic:

This project will entail the collection of weekly weather data and analysis over a 4 month time period. Students will use technology to record data in a spreadsheet and graphically represent the information. We will look at radar and satellite weather maps for the United States and various regions of the world.

Learning Goals:

Student will learn...

how to access current weather on the internet
to use a computer spreadsheet for data collection and graphing
how to interpret radar and satellite weather maps

Learner Task:

The culiminating task in this project will be to prepare a display board comparing the temperature patterns of a U.S. city with an international city. Students will attempt to explain the patterns using the location of the cities (geography) and global weather events.
