What are you going to ask your learners to do/perform/create to indicate that they've learned what you wanted them to learn? An oral presentation? A letter to the President? A HyperStudio representation of a tidal pool? A simulated diary of a pioneer?

The culiminating task in this project might be...

to plan a week-long surfing safari that visit surfing spots in San Diego County that they believe will have the best swells, based upon the knowledge they have gained in their investigation of winds, currents, shorelines, and tides.
