I am an art teacher at Kearny High School in San Diego, California.
I was born in San Bernardino, CA. At the end of WW2 I moved with my family to San Diego. My father was manager of UPS at that time and my mother taught kindergarten. I have one brother, Bill, who was a real pain as a youngster but has greatly improved with age. I have been married and have 2 daughters, Diana and Dona. I have 1 granddaughter, Avalon, and 1 grandson, Doug Jr. (DJ). I presently reside in Oceanside with my cat, Mr. Mistoffoles (Misty) who kindly lets me stay with him in return for fresh food and clean litter.
I am presently interested in learning more about computer tech. and using this information in my classroom to give my students a more comprehensive overview of art and art related subjects and careers.
When I retire I plan to get positions teaching art and crafts on cruise ships. This would help to satisfy my desire to travel as well as continue with my love of teaching and art.
I enjoy reading, gardening, travel, drawing, painting, crafts. flower arranging, and water related sports such as water skiing, body boarding, snorkeling and plan to learn SCUBA as soon as possible.
I have had the opportunity to travel in Europe and Great Britain several times as well as the Greek Islands. My friends and I have always gone "on our own", traveling by train, boat underground and trolley, as well as foot, making plans as we went. I have also been to Hong Kong, a place I found fascinating, a place where I would like to live for a couple of years, at least.
Because of my love for the ocean I have greatly enjoyed snorkeling in the Caribbean, Hawaii (Maui), Moorea, and Bora Bora. I plan to see The Great Barrier Reef and Cancun among many snorkeling and diving spots in the world which fascinate me.
